The weather station at Mirador San Jose has been installed and put into a “testing mode” of operation for the next week. During this week of testing, we will be watching for accurate data coming from the weather station and making note of any technical issues or “bugs” that may come up. We want to make sure that the data is being uploaded to our partner Weather Underground properly. We don’t want any glitches once it is operational and “live” on their website, as well as our own. Mirador San Jose website will have our own page dedicated to the live data from our weather station for everyone to access 24-7.
We know how important it is for North Americans watching our community and for our residents as well. The data collected from the station will also improve Weather Underground’s forecasting model, which will result in better weather forecasting for our local area on the coast. We are excited to contribute our data to our partner. Weather Underground will be able to provide us with any potential weather related warnings that is specific to our forecasting area. This was not possible before, as their was no monitoring station in the area. Weather Underground also has apps available for Android and I-Phone. All you need to do is locate our station on their map and you can enjoy our personal page right on your smart phone.
When our station is operational, we will provide you with all the links, whether you want to download an app, or just view our data on the website, the choice will be yours. The station will have daily, weekly, monthly and yearly data uploaded to Weather Underground as well. We love this feature with Weather Underground, because many people like to look at averages for temperature, rainfall etc. We are excited, and we look forward to letting everyone know when the station is “live.”
